Bay Area Hospital announces $500,000 gift

Bay Area Hospital is pleased to announce a gift of $500,000 from Michael and Lindy Keiser, owners of the Bandon Dunes Golf Resort. This gift represents the lead gift for the Bay Area Hospital’s expansion project, which includes new clinical services specifically interventional cardiology, wound care, improved ICU, inpatient dialysis and new private patient rooms.

It is the largest gift ever made to Bay Area Hospital, as well as from Mr. and Mrs. Keiser’s philanthropic fund. This is a gift to all the residents of the Oregon Coast where Bay Area Hospital provides access to exceptional quality care close to home.

Decades ago, Mike Keiser had achieved great success in business, which gave him the opportunity to pursue his passion … golf. Over the years after playing on many of the world’s best golf courses, he decided to build his own vision of what golf should be. Fortunately for the Oregon Coast and golfers everywhere, he discovered the ideal property in the sand dunes near Bandon, Ore. The first course opened in 1999, and the fifth course opened in May 2012. The Keisers believe in giving back to the communities where they invest, and fortunately, Bay Area Hospital is a recipient of their generosity and philanthropy.

Bay Area Hospital is honored to be recognized locally by the Keisers, and we see this as the beginning of an important collaboration between the two largest employers on the South Coast.

Bay Area Hospital is a community-owned district hospital and as such is committed to caring for every individual who comes there in need. Unlike most public medical facilities, however, Bay Area Hospital is not funded by a local tax levy from the population it serves. The new expansion provides a valuable opportunity for the citizens of our region to invest in their community hospital, ensuring exceptional medical care for current and future generations.
