Bay Area Hospital and Quorum Health End Letter of Intent

COOS BAY, Ore. (August 8, 2025) – Bay Area Hospital announced today that Quorum Health has terminated its nonbinding Letter of Intent and concluded the due diligence process between the two organizations.

“The commitment of the board to preserving access to high-quality health care on the South Coast remains unchanged,” said Simon Alonzo, board chair of the Bay Area Hospital District Board of Directors. “Bay Area Hospital is essential to the health and well-being of our community, and we are focused on evaluating all possible options to ensure its long-term stability.”

Bay Area Hospital is dedicated to serving the needs of patients, families, and the broader community during this time of transition. The board and leadership team are actively assessing the next steps and will share more as the path forward becomes clear.
