Pediatric services at Bay Area Hospital recognizes the unique needs of children and families and is committed to providing the best care possible. We strongly encourage parents to be actively involved in their child’s care and provide amenities such as sleeper chairs, bedding, and showers so parents can stay with their child.

Our registered nurses are PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)-certified, ensuring the highest level of care for pediatric patients.

This program trains healthcare providers to provide pediatric care for patients experiencing life-threatening emergencies such as cardiac arrest, respiratory emergencies, and shock.

Family-centered Care

In terms of family-centered care, upon arrival, your nurse will initiate a comprehensive family-centered care plan that includes pediatric safety precautions. Our unit is equipped with an electronic security system to ensure the safety of our infants and young patients. Furthermore, our rooms are designed with kid-friendly décor to help children feel at home, and we offer children’s movies and games for entertainment.

Moreover, in addition to providing general medical and surgical services, our pediatric department includes a pediatric diabetes program and a safe room in the emergency department for pediatric behavioral health patients until they can be transferred for treatment.
