Derrick Oaxaca, MD, MBA, MS serves as our Chief Medical Officer in a part-time capacity, while also continuing to work as part of our Emergency Department physician team. Dr. Oaxaca is a board-certified Emergency Medicine physician and fellowship-trained leader in Administrative Medicine, dedicated to redefining how emergency care is delivered along Oregon’s southwest coast.

Blending medicine with business acumen, Dr. Oaxaca earned his MBA from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business, where he honed his skills in strategy, leadership, and healthcare innovation. He holds a Master of Science in Biological Sciences from the University of Texas at El Paso. He earned his medical degree from the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center-El Paso. Dr. Oaxaca went on to complete his Emergency Medicine Residency at Indiana University School of Medicine, one of the nation’s most respected emergency medicine programs.

Certified in Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt) and published in multiple medical and scientific journals, Dr. Oaxaca brings precision and progress to every role he serves.
